The audience (read social media) has turned its attention to Lady Sarah Rose Hanbury, the Marchioness of Cholmondeley, reportedly part of Kate and Prince William’s ‘inner circle’.

Who is Sarah Rose Cholmondeley?
Lady Sarah Rose Hanbury was born on March 15, 1984, into a family with deep-rooted connections to the British royal family. Her maternal grandmother, Lady Elizabeth Lambert, served as one of the bridesmaids at Queen Elizabeth II’s wedding, embedding a royal connection that has spanned generations.
Educated at the prestigious Stowe School and later at The Open University, Lady Sarah Rose ventured into the world of fashion modelling, represented by Storm Models, and also engaged in political research, working for Conservative MP Michael Gove.
According to a report by The Independent, in 2009, Lady Sarah Rose’s life took a significant turn when she married David Rocksavage, the 7th Marquess of Cholmondeley. The marriage not only elevated her to the status of Marchioness but also saw her taking on the stewardship of Houghton Hall. Together with her husband, she resides at this magnificent estate. Their home is a stone’s throw from Anmer Hall, making them neighbours of Prince William and Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton.
Prince William and Rose Hanbury were reportedly involved, as several media organisations claimed, in 2019.Meanwhile, Lady Sarah Rose, in an interview with The English Home in 2023, spoke about the sprawling 106-room estate.
“Moving anywhere feels awkward at first, and it took me a while to adjust and feel at home. We use the ground floor, and the second and third floors, where the bedrooms are. The first floor is mainly occupied by the State Rooms. I don’t know how many rooms we have in total,” she said in the interview.
